[ sometime closer to christmas, neon leaves a small handful of gifts on their bed for devon to find, all of them neatly wrapped in stereotypical green and red paper and tied off or dotted with a gold bow or metallic ribbon. in order from smallest to largest:
• a necklace that looks alarmingly similar to a life alert. • two game cartridges for a gameboy color. the titles read donkey kong country and marble madness. • a candle, with the word 'butt' crossed out in sharpie and replaced, in familiar handwriting, with the word 'lethal'. • a purple gameboy color. • a t-shirt, slightly oversized. • a leather-boundsketchbook with a collection of high quality colored pencils on the inside. on the first page is a doodle of a cat with a fish in its mouth in the lower right corner, and a handwritten note that reads: you can fit so many anime titties in this bad boy. -n
sprinkled around the collection of gifts are a bunch of individually wrapped, fun-sized candies and chocolates (none of which contain peanuts), scattered like sugary confetti. ]
